There is no such thing as scarcity

Onefer, Twofer, Threefer.

A little rule I follow is that I observe for how often I notice the frequency of a message.

If I only see it once, it's a onefer.

If I see it twice, it a twofer.  Often, I will begin to check things and take early action at twofers.

Sometimes, I see threefers.

(By the way, these are all slang words that come from 1980s American advertisements where you were offered something at a price of two for one dollar or "2 for $1!" which was shortened to two-fer or twofer.  The $1 part has long dropped from the meaning as you can commonly find things at 2 for $5 now.

The message I've now seen three times is this:

1. How to Care Less About Work...which seemed to hit me as "Don't Monetize Everything" even though that's not in the article.

2. Make Free Stuff which says "Resource Scarcity doesn’t make sense on the web."

and 3. which was Tim Keller's January 22 Tweet: An idol is anything that you turn to and say, "Save me."

"An idol is anthing that you turn to and say, "Save me." Tim Keller, January 22, 2022

All 3 messages seem to be pointing to the topic of resource scarcity...or...more directly...the utter ridiculousness of that concept.  As in, no such thing.

There is no such thing as a scarcity of jobs.

There is no such thing as a scarcity of stuff.

There is no such thing as a scarcity of time.

An interesting message to contemplate here now in the deep of winter, just as tax time is upon us. There is no such thing as scarcity. Don't believe that lie.
